About Chubby’s

Chubby McAvoy of the Gold Coast – 54 Years of age and still holding the pads and a “great” Grandfather !

Chubby was raised in Qld Brisbane (Another Queenslander – and a lover of sport)  and ventured down to Sydney, Dubbo and Melbourne chasing his boxing career.

Chubby has 42 years of Boxing Experience under his belt. Chubby has been training boxers for 30 years and he loves every minute of it.

Chubby is married with a son, daughter and a few horses on his property at Mudgeeraba to add to the family tree.

• Qld School Boys title – Fly Weight
• Novus Title Qld – Fly Weight
• Intermediate Qld – Fly Weight
• Melbourne Victoria Title – Light Welter Weight
• Runner Up  –  Australian Titles

Chubby remembers getting beaten by a split decision and missing out on the Commonwealth Games, he’ll reminds us about that day every day we train at Chubby’s, “that why, you should never give up”
